Fuzzy Logic was born in the year 2000, riding a wave of millennial positivity and capitalising on the popularity of indie music at the time. Seventeen years on, and the logic still rings true.

Although the music policy at Wire has gradually shifted towards electronic sounds, this weekly club night has been retained, because we simply couldn’t do without it. The alternative music fans of Leeds, as well as attending gigs, need a dark room and a loose dance floor to let their hair down. Fuzzy Logic is there to help, playing a mix of sing-a-long classics from the past forty years, as well as the newest indie bangers.

To celebrate their birthday, DJs Ryan Dickenson and Adam Winch-Furness will be giving over their spot behind the decks, and letting rising rockers Sundara Karma take control of the selections for the night on Thursday 26th January.

We asked Ryan to give us his tips on which bands will be making moves in 2017. Here’s what he said:

The Amazons

Hailing from Reading, The Amazons rise from small gig venue to festival through the support of BBC Introducing has been nothing short of incredible. With their hard-hitting guitar riffs, they have caught the attention of just about every Alternative radio show and playlist going and they show no sign of stopping yet as they were longlisted for BBC’s Sound of 2017.

Seramic

Finding our attention as main support for Jack Garrett’s recent tour, Seramic made a statement with their unique world of Electronic meeting Jazz/Funk and it’s certainly a world we’d like like to be a part of with the silky tones accompanied with melodies we just can’t help move to. We’re strongly tipping these for big things in the coming year.

Trudy and the Romance

Formerly known as Trudy and from the great musical city of Liverpool, the band strangely describe themselves “Mutant 50’s Pop”. About to embark on a nationwide tour, we feel that Trudy and the Romance are just at the start of their journey but having said that, we cannot deny their talent and we are tipping them for success for years to come. Their original mentality of creating songs with catchy rhythms but then creating shifts in temp shouldn’t work, but in their own quirky way, it always does.

Krrum

As a graduate from Leeds College of Music, Krrum is a guy we’re all too familiar with and we claim him as Leeds’ very own (not to mention, he’s been found partying with us on more than one occasion). From student to artist, Krrum has come on leaps and bounds and now has really established his sound somehow combining electronic with pop mixed with himself playing on the horns, we’re definitely a big fan.

Sundara Karma

And last but not least, our seventeenth birthday guests of honour, Sundara Karma. These lads have toured and their fans have quickly followed. Even compared to artists who have been on social media for the long haul, the way Sundara stay connected with their fans is unrivalled. Gig after gig have made it impossible for the radio stations and music publications to ignore and the band quickly made their way from C list to A list before topping the charts with their album release thus winning a spot on BBC’s Sound of 2017 long-list and a spot on main support for Two Door Cinema Club. Even if you don’t like them, their catchy Indie-Pop sound will have you singing out their lyrics.
