In the final party of our regular series at Wire, and the final party of the summer, we’re going out with a bang by inviting the one and only Ostgut Ton and Berghain veteran, and all round techno legend Boris for a Berlin style blow out.
A resident of the legendary Ostgut club before its demise, Boris established himself at the new Berghain site in 2004 and has played a key role in the club set up ever since. Having spent time in New York during the ascendency of the legendary Larry levan and Paradise Garage, Boris was heavily influenced by this pivotal time in dance music history, carrying it back over to Berlin. Over the past decade he has built up a reputation for crafting immersive, propulsive sets that send ravers into states of dancefloor delirium.
With the core Leeds team either having moved away or unsure of their plans next year and with a new focus on London beginning with the London launch at Corsica Studios the day before this event, it seems the time is right to wind down and finish our monthly residency at Wire. That won’t stop us from exploring one-off parties in future though. We’re grateful for what Leeds has given us and for the support we’ve been shown by an amazingly faithful crowd. For anyone involved in our parties in Leeds in any shape or form these past two years, we can’t thank you enough. It’s been a ride. It seems fitting that on the same weekend one chapter ends, a new one begins.
